Happy 3rd Anniversary!

It just seemed like yesterday she was dressed in Soccor cleats and knee pads right after her ballet class. Take a look at this beautiful person! Planning Ashley's wedding was a new experience for me - there were 'code words' for when she had reached the level at which she would kill me. (There were many times she had to use them too!)

All in all it was a beautiful day - and a memorable one at that. Ashley was my first child to be married and it was a whole new ballgame to me! We all fell in love with Mike at the same time. His motto was "Date the Mother First". He was always a gentleman to me and treated my daughter as if she could walk on water. I had prayed for someone just like him to come a sweep her off her feet. But when I met him - he was even more than that. I have watched Mike and Ashley survive 2 tours of separation as Mike has served in Iraq. I have really been touched by their love for each other. They are crazy funny and yes, they are both dorks - which works out well for their relationship. I am proud of their choice to be married in the Salt Lake Temple - this was a new experience for me and one I will treasure - it is my goal to see all of my children married the right way - for time and all eternity. Gettin' mushy here.... Anywho - I am proud of them in everyway. They are living in North Salt Lake now. Mike is still active as Staff Sargent Doxstader - and is away right now teaching special forces classes in California for a month or two. Ashley is currently finishing up her Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering and is employed at ATK in Promotory. I love, love, love them in every way and I wanted to wish them Happy Anniversary. They are celebrating their Anniversary in California in Montery as Mike is still assigned there. Thanks for showing us all what crazy love is all about. I have only one request - stop practicing and make me some little Dox's with diapers and cowboy boots and Popsicles dripping down their belly buttons! Enjoy your day! (Lee Lee - need wedding pics as I have dislocated my brain as to where they are... send your favorite!) P.S. Good help was hard to find the day of Ashley's bridals - we sold her to the highest bidder last year....thanks Beep!

Yikes - 30 years?

This is SO not what Sky View Looked like when I went there 30 years ago! But the classmates I graduated with never looked as good as they did at our 30 year class reunion. It was a great reunion. But never the less - it meant looking at the pictures and the names on tags to identify some of them! (I'm know they had to look at mine too) I did enjoy having grown up conversations with adults - instead of high school people. There has been many reasons to celebrate great things that have happened to friends. There were reasons to cry- with 15 classmates deceased, it was humbling. I enjoyed talking to friends that actually remembered me - and some that were a major part of my childhood long before high school. ....and there stood Lyle Archibald - oh ya - my first silly kiss - not a real one with lovey dovey stuff- just a kiss that happened in a game called 'Choo Choo' which deemed me as a dork no less. He now looks like President Monson - weird. He let me tease him - and so did his beautiful wife! I enjoyed myself and greatly appreciated the many hours it took to organize such an event. Thanks Ed Clayson, Alan Smart and Alan Funk. Alan Funk by they way - recognized the name Doxstader - my son-in-laws last name - and boy did I get the checkbook out & ready for some juicy information on Mike! Looks like we've all grown up and contributed a boat load of children to the world. Most interesting comment - Where are your children tonight? Well - they're with THEIR children, and my GRANDCHILDREN!
This is a picture of our Student Body Officers - or our Executive Council as we called it. L to R: President: Paul Spackman, VP Brent Allen, ME! Secretary, Teri Smith Historian, Dave Chambers Executive, Amy Jenkins, Executive, Andrea Larsen Executive, and Duane Weber Executive. Pretty frightening pants on Dave! I loved these guys - and I miss them terribly. Paul, Dave and I were the only ones there at the reunion. This picture is up in the hallway of Sky View - and my nieces laugh at it when they see it. Farah Fawcett hair and all - it was difficult for me to have a dress on because I was an athlete! These are the leftovers after 30 years. Paul Spackman, Myself, and David Chambers - he changed his pants for this picture! Wow - a thorn between two roses... I love these guys!

We had a social on Friday at Sky View and then a dinner at Maddox. Ashley was my date at Sky View - she was a wonderful sport and enjoyed hearing all of the stories. Everyone thought she was my 'life partner'? I had to explain that the beautiful, intelligent, tall person hanging on me, was my daughter - Jordan High Graduate, BYU Graduate and soon to be UofU Masters Graduate. Thanks Lee Lee.See you all in 5 years. Thanks for taking me down memory lane just for a moment. (Everyone posted their pictures on the skyview78.org website and that's where my pictures will be found from the reunion.)

Lost..... and not Found

Ashley lost the diamond from her wedding ring today. Could you all please look around for it? It will be ANYTHING that shines ANYWHERE. Life sucks sometimes. Those are the tears that can never find enough comforting..... Where is Batman when you need him? Turn the big winged flashy spotlight up in the sky on..... She only went 300 places today...... Love you Ash - I'm so sorry. (You shine brighter than any diamond ever could sweetheart....)

Get your butts to the movies NOW

There aren't enough stars to give to this movie. Take a couple or three hours and treat yourself to another world. Ashley and I took off to the 10:00 showing on 'The Dark Knight". It took a tub of popcorn, buttered half up, a box of Junior Mints, Crunchy Ice Water, and 2 pretzels to keep us fueled for the show of the year. It was freaky good. It was one of those movies that no matter what you did you were still in shock at how amazing it was hours later when you couldn't concentrate on anything. It was so so so sad to see Heath Ledger for the last and final performance of his life. He's Oscar bound - but if you don't believe me we can 'flip a coin and see if you live or die' for your decision.... 3 villains try their fate - but there is only one Knight crowned. HOOOORRRRAAAHHH for, The Dark Knight. Now let's see.....when is the next showing. PS - I know who I'm being for Halloween....... (well me and 4 million other people)

I will miss this beautiful face.... and will wonder why......
