What's in a name?

Bethany commented on the use of Vincent as a middle name for their new beautiful son Andrew. Andrew Vincent Hillary shares his middle name with his father, Matthew Vincent Hillary. Matthew shares his middle name with his father Del (Delbert) Vincent Hillary. Delbert Vincent Hillary was blessed to have the names of both of his Grandfathers; Delbert LeRoy Hillary, and Vincent Guadalupe Moliere and Del's Uncle, Vicente Moliere who was also named after his father. Originating from Nicaragua, Great Great Grandpa Moliere's name pronunciation is Vi-cen'-te, with the accent being on the second syllable. Anyway you say it - it was such an honor to know that you passed on greatness in a name for each generation represented the name respectfully. It was a tender moment when we told Great Grandma (Amalia Ruth Moliere)Hillary that Matt and Bethany were using her father and Brother's name. She was very touched and emotional. Andrew, your Grandma (Nicole) Hillary has no doubt that you will honor it as four generations have before you.

Happy Birthday MATT!

Holy cow! This week I'm a grandma of a one week old, Andrew, and a mom of a 24 year old! Matt and Andrew chose a wonderful month to be born. My oldest son MaeMae's birthday was February 23rd. Matt has been a wonderful son, grandson, big brother, son-in-law, husband, friend, missionary warrior, and now daddy himself. There is nothing sweeter than looking at your child and seeing the man you dreamed he would be. Matt has always given his whole heart to all that he loves and believes in. I have always been thankful for the day that he made Bethany a part of our family. (I loved her way before they were married!!) Then he goes and gives our family the next generation of Hillary's and an exceptionally handsome grandson! I am proud of you Matt in everyway - in all you do. Happy Birthday Matt! Yo mommason loves you! I'll give you the 5 year deal in Washington - then you need to come back.... my heart will miss yours.

Ashem Crashem Wickem Wackem

I need to add an Ashely note this week. First of all I keep asking for an updated picture of them - but this one I have on hand isn't too shabby. Mikes medals now go down to his wrist after 2 tours of duty in Iraq - and Ashley's hair is down back about 6 more inches and bear the crease of a BYU Graduation cap - but all in all - they're still 'hotta'. My story of Lee Lee this week is a 'Hare' raising story. She was driving to work at Promontory Point where she is an Engineer with ATK - it was early morning and she was driving in a long dark strip of road. All of a sudden a rabbit jumped out and she heard it hit the car. There wasn't much she could do and so she drove on. Broke her tender heart knowing that little Bunny Fru Fru was obviously not part of the living rabbit race anymore. That night she noticed a big hole in the front bumper of her car. When she looked closer she noticed rabbit hair around the hole! It was a HUGE hole! She didn't dare open the hood of the car in case bits and pieces of the Easter Bunny were still in there!! So - I suggest the next time you slaughter Bugs Bunny, you should take along some wheat bread, mustard and pickles and after it cooks up real nice under the hood - you make lunch and enjoy the road kill of the day! P.S. And you fear for your life when you drive with me? Let me guess.....you honked your horn at it like you do to everyone else? Hope you kept the 'rabbits foot' for good luck! Gotta love my Ashley - and I do!

Mini Matt is born!!!!!!!

I'm a Grandma! Well - that makes Del a Grandpa! Our first grandchild was born this morning at 3:00 - He weighs 7 lbs and 9 oz and was 18 inches long. What? His name? THEY DON'T KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Del called him Wyatt Erp, I called him perfect, Matt and Bethany are looking at us like - "Hum, I guess we'll name our own baby...." Grandma & Grandpa Stimpson are in Hawaii - Matt asked them to pick out a coconut nursing bra! This baby is beautiful - I hope he can survive his father! More details to come - but today looked like a perfect day to be born. I call it perfect.... Congratulations! Our family tree has just increased by one beautiful baby boy! Just don't call him Festus ok?

Too much information....

Ok - so the other day I was going on about a 9 1/2 hour day with not much sleep, and a shift that had started early in the morning. I went to the restroom, and while 'spending time there' put my elbows on my knees and my chin on my hands and well, dozed off. 'Bout 10 minutes later I woke up and my legs had fallen asleep! No feeling from the waist down. I couldn't stand up! I started laughing - there was no way out of this! Then when the feeling started going back into my feet and that awful tingly-burn feeling started up I started to cry! Needless to say - I was concerned about this experience! (and hoping that no one would come through the door about then) So now - I have to set the alarm clock on my phone when I'm in the restroom!!!!! And to think that I think that my children are wierd? Two thoughts - (more TMI) - My mom taught me to always wear clean underwear - didn't think it meant 'because someone might have to pull them for you", and #2 (no pun intended) You CAN go from a laugh up to a melt down within minutes of each other! That really bad commercial comes to mind, "Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go!" Now where's my phone.... Sorry kids - I know I should be heavily medicated.

The 'Other' Grandma is famous...

Check out the link to Matt and Bethany's blog. It is listed at the right of our blog. You are not going to believe the article on the Stimpson Queen Mum. Keep in touch with the Ellen show and let's all cheer on our favorite drivers license picture. Ok - I really don't weigh what I said I weighed....but I do have a Motorcycle License.....and well - somewhat of a picture.... Love ya Queen Mum! Hope the grandchild takes on the Hillary/Bowen genes for pictures!
