I realize the most of you know about the Angel getting torched by lightening at the top of the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple - ouch. I actually watched this storm sweep across the valley - not an unfamiliar sight for the past 2 weeks. Mom use to tell me that thunder was the devil rolling apples down the stairs. I always wondered why he was in heaven with a bushel of apples... Then, I watched Snow White and I figured that it must have been the poison apples - - wait shiny buttons - another story for another day. I guess the first person that noticed it was a guy walking to choir practice with his binoculars. Ok - so that's a boner award in itself - who actually walks to choir practice with binoculars? (let alone actually wanting to go to choir practice?) (Get that guy in for an interview....) The point of this blog was to tell you another story about Moroni, not that story, the missionaries will have to tell you that one. Many years ago when they took the angel off of the Salt Lake Temple to give it more muscles (really) and a quick structural update, they found bullet holes in it. Hummm.... Maybe they should give him a semi automatic machine gun instead of a trumpet, especially around conference time when those idiots stand around and scream in our faces! Let's see - Draper Temple, baptism by fire, Qquirrh Temple, torched by lightening... I think I'll just head off to the Jordan River Temple this week, except it's in the lowest part of the valley and it might flood! What a blessing to have 4 to choose from! Well, from this picture no one can say the Mormons are not multicultural - I vote we leave it as it is - it's just a little reminder of who's actually in charge. Gotta go - working on my Relief Society Lesson....
