Alana posted that she was going from 6th grade to 4th grade - as an educator. (It's more frightening to go from 4th to 6th and have the same kids again later on!) She is amazing in whatever capacity she is in. She continually changes the lives of children by showing them all of the millions of things they can learn if they apply themselves, then she flashes that smile of confidence and they go out and do just that. She is brilliant in everyway and I say to her decision, "Lucky Kids, Lucky Team". Yesterday, I realized that I need to go back to school. To MOM University. Been balancing on the edge of many choices lately and the rocks below are falling out beneath me on the cliff. There has to be classes out there on 'How to keep your nose out of your children's business' courses 101 through 501. 'Getting your heartfelt thoughts across without making them actually cry in Costa Veda' upper level courses with pre-requisites required. And I would need to take multiple courses on, "Surviving the 'wings to fly' because you know that they're going to do just that" acaemic challenges offered in mulitple courses. I had my 12th or so such mid term yesterday out of many more to come and I failed profusely. I'm still trying to find a bookstore that sells the basics in parenting children. I did find however that a course called "Laying Low" was available and I signed up right away. Although I have felt that I have lifted many weights in my weight training courses over the years, I still don't quite know how to lift my heavy heart. Or fix the one I broke.

I looked all over for Mom University about 9 years ago...never did find it. I think it's one of those "learn by trial and error" courses that you never quite get the gist of. But I've found that you just do what you can, learn along the way, and be glad you've taught your kids what they need to know to be out on their own. They'll make wrong choices, (didn't you?) but they'll learn, on their own, and at their own pace. And they'll thank you for just being there for them. Just remember "mind your own business" and "keep your mouth shut" and you'll be fine.
Hey Bob - I think you found your "Mom University" professor. Thanks Pitbull! Oh - and by the way - ruin my freakin life! :o) Lets go get some dutch food...
Oh hey bob. love you.
Thanks for the nice comments! I am excited to teach 4th grade! I love teaching and it's even better when working with an amazing team! The kids are so darn cute and they make me smile everyday!
I am sure you are an awesome mom! I know it's hard as moms to watch kids grow up and to know what to do to best help them. I remember my mom struggling when she first became an "empty nester." She comes and visits often! But you know what...I wil NEVER be too old to need my mom! It won't matter how old I get...I will always need her!
Anytime, Ashley, anytime. Just let me know. And by the way, I think your freakin life was ruined way before I had any influence (remember who your parents are!) And if the truth were known, I think it was your mom that ruined my life.... :)
The correct usage of the word is "Ruint" if you're going to dish me don't ruint my life by using the word wrong, gosh - ruint my life will ya...
somebody famous once said "ruint is as ruint does"..... But our "lifes" couldn't have been "ruint" by two nicer friends....
