Stuff That Makes Us Hillarys: Spontanious Mini Thoughts for the Suprise of May

...in the beginning...

We are the Hillary family. I can't actually claim all of us to be Hillarys, we've meshed with the Stimpsons, the Doxstaders, the Merrimans, and the Lowreys - but the more you hang around us the more we kind of rub off on you, and poof - you become a Hillary. Which, after reading some of the things that we do might sound like a pretty frightening thing. The disclaimer is that I cannot embarrass any of my children, and I promised. Then I uncrossed my fingers. We love the following people in our family.... Del & Nicole, Matt & Bethany & Drew, Em, and the Noahman Ashley & Mike and Baby Mackadamia and soon to be..., Mandy & Ryan, J-man and Dimples, and Ryan and Katie - yes we own two Ryans! Not pictured: Zoey the German Shephard, Opi the newly adopted puppy, BG & Baby Red the Macaws (the latter two Zoey would eat if put in the same picture). Welcome to our Blog. Don't take us too seriously.... life is meant to have a never ending, bottomless tub of buttered popcorn and laughter.

Spontanious Mini Thoughts for the Suprise of May

If you ask me - there should never be surprises. No surprise parties, no surprise visitors, no surprise jumping out of the dark at you moments in time. Why?? Well I'll tell you - I am a control freak. I want to know where, when, how many and the what for of EVERYTHING in my life. No surprises. So when my kids said, "Oh mom - don't plan anything next Saturday at 3 ok.... click ... hang up phone.... I'm all - no... wait.. nope... not... never.... and for one week this tortured me. I can't just say how much this drives me nuts! To make matters worse - they knew that I would torture their dad by questioning him over and over again - so they didn't tell him either - which made me NUTS. So today arrives, and I'm allover texting... ok what should I wear, how long will we be.... just tell me so I will relax.... NO - the answer was NO. Needless to say - all of my kids were in town this week, and they wanted to celebrate Mom's and Dad's day for Del and I. It was perfect - couldn't have been happier once I knew - relaxed, ate everything on the table at our fave place Macaroni Grill - AND desert was having the grandchildren there - they were delicious. It's been a wonderful week with them - knowing they were close by - seeing their love for each other - and seeing their lives so blessed because of their incredible devotion to their families and careers. Their spouses (minus on hot military man) were so supportive of our crazy schedule this week. To be the parents of these children - to fill up a table - and to listen to all of our conversations... I might just weaken my stand on surprises..... Like any surprise that includes - a new baby or something - I'm all over that one. Thanks kids for making our day wonderful. Matt - hope that parking stall gave you your 20.00 back on Free Parking Saturday... der der der.... xoxoxx
